Mission Bay - Affordable Housing Courtyard

Design of a courtyard for a 100% affordable housing project in San Francisco's Mission Bay district. This courtyard serves as a critical communal gathering space as unit sizes are limited. A custom-designed bike pavilion was detailed which filters in light through laser-cut perforated panels. Bamboo will quickly fill in this courtyard creating a series of intimate spaces in an otherwise communal setting. This project received the AIA National Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing, the 2023 American Architecture Award, and an honor Award from ARCHITECT Magazine.
